What is an FASD Walk About?
An FASD Walk About is a simple tool designed to make community organizations more accessible to people with invisible disabilities. It involves learning about physical, social and institutional factors that impact accessibility for people with FASD and the developing practical strategies to address them.
What is the purpose?
By making our community organizations more accessible to people with invisible disabilities, we make them more accessible to everyone.
Who benefits?
With new knowledge and skills, your organization will be better equipped to accommodate people with neurological disabilities such as FASD. As well, staff, volunteers, administration and the broader community will all benefit from the inclusion strategies we will help you develop.

What is involved?
Participation in an FASD Walk About involves:
- Meeting with key members of your organization to develop a plan that fits
- Completing a brief questionnaire about FASD
- On-site visit(s) from project team members living with FASD (supported by project staff) to assess accessibility factors of your organization
- In service workshop(s) to provide knowledge and skills that specifically respond to your organization's unique needs
- Written recommendations and follow-up contacts to support progress
- Sharing information via our website, reports, workshops and manual.

How much time is required?
That depends on your organization’s needs and capacity. At least one on-site visit (2-4 hours), plus delivery of an in-service training (2-3 hours) and we will provide support and follow up contacts.
